From Grit to SheBuilds: Reimagining the Architecture of Leadership

The origin of the Architect

I left public education earlier this school year, and every school milestone has hit me with a strong mix of emotions. This was the last week of school and it hit me with a hefty punch in the gut. The real irony is, all of the things that I miss about being a school leader are the parts that got boxed out by so many other competing priorities. My nervous system is still recovering. My focus for these past several months has been to capture and operationalize the tools and strategies that kept me afloat in the chaos to hopes support the amazing educational leaders out that are out there putting in the grit.

Unleashing my inner explorer

One clear benefit of being on the other side of public education is the freedom to experiment, ideate, and to build without the fear of the “boxed out” reality. One of these explorations led me to Lovable, an AI-powered full-stack engineer that has fundamentally changed how I think about the speed of a build. As someone who will likely never write a line of code (never say never!), Lovable offers a vehicle to “vibe code” your ideas into stunning UI/UX. When Lovable opened applications for season 3 of their SheBuilds “hackathon”, I didn’t hesitate. Imagine my surprise when I was selected as one of 210 builders to participate in this amazing opportunity.

What the heck is a hackathon?

That is a great question and I look forward to being on the other side to tell you all about it! Essentially, we will have 48 hours to build within Lovable and submit for recognition. The real benefit is the access to the amazing staff at Lovable who have been offering micro-trainings all week to help us to prepare and the community of builders sharing ideas and strategies. I plan to have snacks, coffee, and realistic expectations! I plan to be frustrated, lost, and exhilarated. Wish me luck. I actually cannot wait to see what happens.
